What is it?
HbA1c test
The Haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) test measures your average blood sugar level over the previous 8-12 weeks. High blood sugar levels are strongly associated with conditions like cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Therefore, the lower your HbA1c score, the better.
Triglycerides:HDL ratio test
TG:HDL is the ratio of triglycerides (TG) to High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) in your blood. TG are a major form of fat stored by the body, while HDL is a molecule that transports things like fat and cholesterol in the body.
In a similar sense to the HbA1c test, generally the lower your TG:HDL score, the better.
The TG:HDL ratio is strongly associated with long-term heart disease risk, and can give you an additional perspective on how well the metabolic processes in your body are functioning.

You take a finger-prick blood test at home and post the sample to our lab in the pre-addressed envelope
Our accredited lab analyses the sample and we email you your results along with reference ranges in 1 weeks time

If you want to see the impact of the positive changes you're making by following the Second Nature programme, we'd recommend taking the test every 3-6 months.
