Care

  • Is my new Body Jewellery clean?

    • Any time your skin is broken, proper hygiene is vitally important. We at Purely Piercings can not stress enough how essential it is that you make sure to keep not only your piercing as clean as possible, but also to clean any body jewellery you use.

All Body jewellery sold on Purely Piercings is sold new (unused) and clean but should in no way it be assumed, unless otherwise specified on an individual item, to be sterile. Purely Piercings will not be held liable for any harm or loss suffered by customers using our body jewellery incorrectly or without following appropriate safety procedures. For your own safety, please make sure to clean all new body jewellery fully with an approved cleaning agent prior to use and avoid using body jewellery if at anytime your piercing is infected, broken or otherwise in less than perfect condition.

You should always use a licensed professional to do your piercings. Please make sure to fully adhere to any advice given to you by your local tattoo or piercing studio and if you notice any problems or are concerned at all, please make sure to get help as soon as possible.

Purely Piercings aims to make sure all customers fully enjoy their piercings and any jewellery for years to come so please, take your health seriously.
  • How do I look after my Wooden Jewellery?

    • Wooden Jewellery is definitely in a class of it's own, the natural colours & grains are unique to each piece which makes owning wood plugs and wood tunnels something special. There are however some things you need to be aware of to make sure your new plugs last and maintain their colours for as long as possible.

Wood Jewellery does change colour, this occurs from both sunlight and your body's natural oils. This aging process however tends to enhance the product. We recommend using Jojoba oil on your wooden plugs both when you first get them plus every few months to keep the wood healthy & looking it's best.
To apply simply rub the item clean, add a few drops of Jojoba oil with a soft cloth and polish. All it takes is a few drops – do not over oil.

Wooden Jewellery can also be easily damaged if handled roughly so avoid dropping or banging against hard surfaces.

      - Rural Addresses: 5 -7 business days

Orders are dispatched Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Excluding public holidays).

Please note: Delivery time can vary especially during peak times e.g. Christmas. Once your order is picked up from our warehouse by the Courier it is out of our hands as to when it is delivered. Weather events, road closures and internal delays with our Courier partner will also affect delivery times.
  • I don't live in NZ, do you ship international?

    • Unfortunately since the events of COVID-19 this has made ensuring prompt on time delivery, as well as parcels getting lost and the rising cost to ship has meant we are no longer shipping outside of New Zealand.
  • How much will delivery cost?

    • The Purely team had a big think about this and decided it's just not right to tempt you with a great range of body jewellery at a great price and then charge you an arm and a leg to ship it.

We only charge a small fee of $3.99 per order for CourierPost or $5.99 for Rural Courier.

Plus spend over $30 and we'll send it for FREE! ($45 for rural addresses).
  • How often are orders dispatched?

    • Orders are dispatched on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays before 12pm. All orders need to be placed before 11am to ensure they are packed and sent out in time on each of our dispatch days. As soon as your order is dispatched, we’ll send you an email with your tracking number.

Orders with payment by bank transfer/direct debit will not ship until payment clears (this can take up to 48 hours depending on your bank). As soon as payment clears, your order will be processed and sent out on the next dispatch date. To avoid any delay, please ensure you include your order number.

General

  • Who are you guys?

    • Purely Piercings is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company operating out of Auckland. What we mean by that is while our products are imported (where possible we do source New Zealand made) all profits stay in the country and are not sent off overseas.

We pride ourselves on not just a huge range of body jewellery but also our unsurpassed quality of both products and customer service. We are all New Zealand citizens, speak perfect English (and nothing really else) and don't use automated answering machines (a novelty in this day and age we know).

We're always on the lookout for new and exciting stock and make it our goal to ensure that you are as happy with your purchases as we are.
  • How are products sized?

    • All items on the site are listed with standard US gauge & imperial measurements + we've added common conversions into metric where we can. Measurements are done from the smallest part of the wearable area of the body jewellery unless mentioned below or on the product.

Where applicable we've also added in other measurements such as length. These details can generally be found by clicking the detailed tab on any product page.

      Tapers
Measured at the largest part - ie. a 10mm taper will stretch up to 10mm.

      Tunnels/Plugs
Measured at the smallest part of the wearable area, this is generally the middle of the item and does not include any flared areas. If your ear is freshly stretched then we do recommend holding off on flared items as they can involve an extra stretch of 2mm which can be unpleasant for some people.

Due to manufacturing differences there can be a slight variation in sizing between products & even manufacturing runs (no more than 10%) but this difference is obviously magnified in larger gauge items (25mm +) - if you need a very specific size without margin of error then please get in touch with us first.
  • What if I find it cheaper elsewhere?

    • Buy Now - Compare Later
We know you hate it when you get yourself an awesome deal only to find an even better one a week later, so at Purely Piercings we've come up with a simple solution. If you find the same or better item at a better delivered price within 30 days of purchase simply let us know and we'll refund you the difference - simple as that.

      What does it Cover
We've tried to make this as simple as possible but just note the rather obvious details below:
      1. Product must be the same or better.
      2. Price must be the total landed cost if it's coming from overseas. Any NZ items must include all relevant delivery charges and can't be combined with other items to artificially deflate the cost.
      3. If the matching product comes as a quantity discount then we reserve the right to demand that the same quantity is met.
      4. You must let us know by either emailing us, using the contact form or calling us on 0800 PURELY (787 359) within 30 days of the order date.
      5. Offer is available for New Zealand purchases only.

  • You sent me the wrong item, now what?

    • If you find yourself in this situation then we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience. All items are checked but sometimes mistakes do occur.

Simply email or give us a call and we'll get the correct item sent out straight away. We do ask that you don't break the heat seal as we will need to arrange to have the wrong product sent back to us. Obviously this won't cost you anything extra.
  • Something broke, what do I do?

      3. The warranty only covers items failing under normal use and does not include damage due to negligence, normal wear and tear or actions outside the realm of normal use.

      4. Please contact us if you wish to return an item, as items returned without prior notification will be sent back at your expense.

      5. Purely Piercings will make every effort to repair or replace the item but since stocks are frequently limited, we reserve the right to issue a refund and will not be held liable if the item is no longer stocked by us.
