   In my opinion, this is more of an all-purpose light line fly rod than a specialty “creek rod.” I would fish this rod anywhere, anytime with dry flies or a light dry-dropper rig. I cast it with several lines, but kept coming back to the Rio Technical Trout. Lovely, controlled loops start at just 15 feet and roll out to beyond 40 feet with a crisp but natural casting stroke. This is one of the best mid-priced trout rods on the market. Loomis really nailed this model, but I wouldn’t limit its applications to just creek fishing.
